Expand your Nurse Training

Available Funding for Your Nursing Simulation Programme

The Department of Health and Social Care has announced a £25 million boost for nurse training. £10 million of this will fund a new nationally recognised critical care qualification to boost the qualified workforce and we are particulary excited to see the explicit recognition of the importance of simulated learning with up to £15 million of this boost for English universities to rapidly expand learning in this area for nursing and other healthcare students.

Up to £15 million of the funding is to invest in new simulated training facilities and technology.  This can involve the use of:
  • Virtual Reality (VR) Technology
  • Manikins
  • Role Play
  • Smart Phones
  • Tablets
  • Computers

When prioritising what type of covered expenses would make the largest impact for your simulation programme, it can help to create a wish list. Weigh the benefits of upgrading existing equipment, expanding the curriculum, improving reporting, and supporting your faculty.
